Podiatrists who wish to work in Australia will be required to have their qualifications assessed by Australia & New Zealand Podiatry Accreditation Council (ANZPAC), and then gain registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). All overseas graduates must undergo a two stage process, in order to gain registration. This includes a paper-based assessment (Stage 1) and a full day practical assessment (Stage 2) which is required to be sat at a particular university. Some podiatrists may be exempt from the Stage 2 assessment, dependent upon qualification.
Please contact us to confirm the most appropriate path for your circumstances.
For podiatrists who wish to work in New Zealand, you must have a qualification from a school approved by the Podiatry Board of New Zealand and must sit the Board’s Open Book examination.
Podiatrists who are currently registered in Australia or New Zealand can apply for registration under the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition (TTMR) agreement for registration in either country.
