Jayna's story

When I was referred to Global Health Source (GHS) by a fellow Canadian sonographer/friend, I had no idea what to expect. To be honest, I wasn't even sure I was ready to take on the overwhelming stress of moving to a different country to work short term. Not long after sending an email to inquire about the process, I was halfway through sorting out the paperwork needed! Tricia and Belinda quickly became more like friends as they — so very patiently — walked me through the processes of applying for my visa and to the NZMRTB. They had the knowledge and experience to make the entire process feel like a walk in the park. Every question I had was promptly and thoroughly answered. There were never any hiccups or surprises along the way, which was reassuring all was going according to plan. I couldn't be more impressed with the way GHS gets to know you on a more personal level throughout this experience. This proved extremely true when placing me in my first couple of locum positions. Having them suggest I take a position with the NMDHB in Blenheim to start, I was a bit nervous as I hadn't heard very much about the city. Not long after starting there, I realised I could not have asked for a better first job in NZ. Both Tricia and Belinda followed up with me on multiple occasions making sure all was well and that I was happy. The GHS team truly cares about you, and that has been made very obvious by their outstanding communication since that very first email. To me, this is above and beyond what I had ever expected from an agency. A year later, I am happier than ever and continuing to work in New Zealand (maybe even indefinitely)! I truly believe Tricia, Belinda and the team are a big part of why my transition from Canada to New Zealand was not only stress-free, but rather enjoyable. Without their support and hard work, I am not so sure I would be as happy as I have been here. I will be the first person to recommend this team to any professional looking to work overseas. I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.
