Sharon's story

When I decided to take on the locum lifestyle 18 months ago, I contacted a handful of agencies. I found my first job myself, then Global Health Source approached me with a suggestion for my second. Since then, I have never had to look for work. GHS has lined up work for me at four different and varied locations, each meeting my immediate needs. I am a 50-year-old sonographer, travelling with my retired husband. We have a camper trailer and like to take time between jobs to explore, doing a 'big lap' of Australia in a zig-zag fashion. We have gone from Mt Isa to central New South Wales, to our dream state Tasmania, then Dubbo, and on to Geraldton in Western Australia. After providing the initial paperwork, the process has been so simple. GHS negotiate fairly for our needs. Our accommodation has been ideal in each place and the workplaces welcoming. I have appreciated being phoned by GHS as we head towards a new job and during each placement. It was initially scary heading across the country towing your home behind you. Those little phone calls made a big difference. I had planned to find my own jobs once I got into the locum groove, but GHS have made everything so simple, I am not going to change a thing.
