The Future of Immigrating to New Zealand
Due to high demand, places in the Managed Isolation Allocation System are now extremely limited leading up to the Summer holiday period.
This week has seen GHS experience an influx of inquiries regarding the removal of radiographers from the skills shortage lists. We have no idea where this rumour started but radiographers have not been on any of the skills shortage list for more than 5 years. This does not prevent radiographers from being issued a visa, it merely requires more paperwork for the employer. Please do not be deterred from making contact if you are a radiographer looking to re-locate.
The second rumour doing the rounds is that Immigration New Zealand has removed the ability for those on Essential Skills visas to access residence in New Zealand. Essential Skills Visas have never been a pathway to residence for overseas candidates. Those on Essential Skills Visas may have a pathway to residence via the Skilled Migrant pathway dependent on their occupation and remuneration level.
These two rumours are examples of why you should not hesitate to contact GHS to discuss your particular circumstances and the options for you and your family. Even well meaning advice can be lost in translation.
