From 7 December 2024, the Skills in Demand (SID) Visa has replaced the Temporary Skill Shortage (subclass 482) Visa, with a three-tiered system for applicants based on their annual earnings and occupation. The SID Visa provides more flexibility to skilled workers and employers through the provision of streamlined processes, clear pathways to permanent residence, and the introduction of updated eligibility criteria.
