NEW ZEALAND IMMIGRATION UPDATE

  • From 23rd December 2021 , all countries will be removed from the Very High Risk country list. There is no longer a requirement for arrivals from South Africa to spend 14 days in a non-high risk country before arriving in New Zealand
  • Temporary change to MIQ – length of stay increased to 10 days for all travellers, with no self-isolation component
  • Next MIQ room release 6 January 2022
  • Pre-departure test requirement to enter NZ reduced from 72 hours to 48 hours before travel
  • Everyone on an international flight with a positive case to be treated as a close contact
  • Phased border re-opening pushed out to the end of February 2022
  • The NZ Government is considering implementing a requirement for all non-New Zealand citizens entering New Zealand to have had a booster dose before flying
