Tyler W.'s story
Sonographer · New Zealand · Relocated from Canada to Rotorua

"I had NZ registration, a position in Rotorua and a work visa in under three months."
I have been a sonographer since 2004 and I love my career. I also have a passion for travelling. I felt a great way to experience New Zealand would be to come and work here, spending an extended amount of time in NZ while giving myself a new professional challenge. A great idea, but there was so much to consider: a new country, a new job, a new home, a working visa, NZ registration.
During my research I came across the GHS website and thought it wouldn't hurt to contact them. Patricia, Belinda and the rest of the team answered every enquiry promptly and provided up to date information on ultrasound positions, registration and the different visas I could apply for. I had never worked overseas before and I can't imagine finding a more knowledgeable, experienced and professional organisation.
After deciding I wanted to work in New Zealand, GHS arranged an interview with Rotorua General Hospital. Everything fell into place quickly: I had NZ registration, a position in Rotorua and a work visa in under three months. GHS provided all of the paperwork for my registration, visa and new position.
I completed my six month contract and accepted an extension, which GHS handled on my behalf. My experience here was wonderful and I have already contacted GHS about my next adventure. Without hesitation I would recommend Global Health Source to anyone considering an ultrasound career in Australia or New Zealand.
